Furano (ふらの) is also known as "Navel town”, an extremely beautiful place located in the center of Hokkaido.
Furano is renowned for LAVENDER field. Many tourists visit this place during summer to admire the celebrated lavender fields and the beauty of their deep purple signature. Lavender in Hokkaido usually starts blooming in late June and reaches its peak from around mid July to early August.
I was looking forward to the lavender fields and rolling hills covered with summer blooms when I arrived in Hokkaido but only managed to feel the lavender on Day 6 when I arrived at Biei and Furano.
So here you go. These are part of the essence extracted from the aromatic lavender fresh from Hokkaido.
Shinzo Maeda Photo Art Gallery
This gallery features a Japanese photographer famous for his beautiful landscape photos of Hokkaido. Hokkaido is so so so beautiful in every season.
Entrance
Photos shooting is strictly prohibited in this gallery but I was very naughty because I wanted to have some memories on every places that I visited. Photos behind me featured the awesome view during winter.
I spotted a beautiful flower garden nearby the gallery and without any hesitation, I ran towards it and took a lot of photos quietly with my hubby. I hate my photos being spoilt by strangers or crowd. Yippie!

Shinkisai (四季彩の丘)
OMG! The view is simply amazing!
I found rainbow field and sunflower field too!!! Just couldn't control myself and I even ignored my hubby (because he was walking too slow and only snapped close up photos for those flowers) and asked other to take photos for me. Pity :(
I love this photo sooooo much
My hubby's close up photos.
Say hello to me!
I was going crazy with all the flowers!
But too bad as before we finished walking in this beautiful field, it started to rain and we got no choice but to leave and head for lunch.
Vast lavender field. Nice view from bus window
I wanna stay here forever can?
Sunflower + lavender field opposite the restaurant that we had our lunch. I spent only 20 minutes to put in everything inside my stomach during lunch time and ran towards this lavender field. I wanted to have more time to camwhore with these pretty flowers!!!
OMG! What a lovely composition!
I totally fell in love with this romantic lavender field.
STAY TUNED for more photos. I will make sure the coming lavender photos fulfill your sense of smell.
