BEST THINGS TO DO IN PRAGUE

Prague is a city full of history and mystery and it has so much to see, with great art and fantastic architecture around every corner.

For a first time visitor there are a few essential things to do in Prague because the whole city is crazy picturesque and incredibly beautiful. Here are the best that I recommend:


1)  Explore Old Town Square (Staromestské námestí) 


The square itself is the perfect place to admire the wonderful architecture of this historical centre. This is definitely the most crowded place in Prague and there are various street performers, musicians and merchants that will certainly keep you entertained.

2)  Watch sunrise at Charles Bridge (Karluv most)

Charles Bridge is a stone Gothic bridge with 30 statues that connects the Old Town and Lesser Town (Malá Strana). Unfortunately, the bridge is filled with hordes of tourists during day time and significantly disrupt its magnificence. If you can visit in the early morning, you'll be rewarded with a glorious sunrise and great back-lit shots of the cityscape. Remember to book a hotel nearby.

    3) Visit Prague Castle

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Prague Castle is the largest coherent castle complex in the world. Prague Castle includes St Vitus Cathedral, Romanesque Basilica of St. George, a monastery and several palaces, gardens and defense towers. Don’t bother lining up and paying the entrance fee most of the castle area are free to wander around but the main buildings are not. Only buy the tickets to enter the buildings if you REALLY want to see them.

St. Vitus Cathedral is the largest and the most important cathedral in Prague 

4)  Visit Vrtba Garden (Vrtbovská zahrada) (Entrance fee 70 CKZ, approx. RM13) 

This is definitely an insta-worthy spot for the beautiful Baroque garden and red roofs view. Only open to the public from April to October. Simply love the red roofs view at the terrace. This hidden gem is a popular garden for wedding ceremony and photography. To have the best view with the rooftops of Prague, you need to be prepared to walk up on a rather steep staircase.

 The entrance of this Garden is a bit hidden but this is what you will see once you turn into the small arch entrance from the main street.

5) Picnic with view at The Prospect - Letna

A lovely place with little tourist compared to the castle with the same great view of the city. There is a park here with vast green field, tables and benches. So it’s really a perfect place for picnic.  

6)  Enjoy night view at Karlov Lazne tram station 

      Right in front of this station is Vltava river and you can enjoy great night view with reflection on the water and it is particularly beautiful at blue hour. There are many restaurants and shops nearby so you can continue shopping or having dinner after taking some insta-worthy shots here. 

  
  7) Try TRDELNÍK (from CKZ90 to CKZ150, approx. RM17-RM28) 

TRDELNÍK is a traditional Slovak rolled pastry topped with whipped cream or ice cream. I strongly recommend you to choose ice cream as it goes really well with the crunchy pastry. 

      It's so popular and almost everyone is eating this! You can find them everywhere in tourist areas in the city but avoid the food cart as the taste may not be good! 

    8) Feed the swans on the Vltava River Bank 

Buy some bread before you come so that you can feed the swans and grab the chance to take great photos with them. The more you feed, the more they come. These swans are super friendly and they are used to be fed by the tourists so when they will follow you and chase you for food when you start feeding. Just be careful when you are feeding as they might hurt your fingers. After this, you can head into the wonderful Mala Strana district of Prague.

   9)  Wander through the lovely streets at Mala Strana

      Mala Strana has much lesser tourists and it's equally instagenic as Old Town. Turn into the side streets to discover this gorgeous and quieter neighbourhood. You will find many lovely cafes and cute little souvenir shops here.

10) Visit Old town hall tower (Entrance fee 210 CKZ, approx. RM39) 

      The tower is among the highest in the Old Town and houses one of Prague’s most identifiable icons, the Astronomical Clock. The line for purchasing the ticket can be very long so be sure to buy your ticket in advance at https://prague.mobiletickets.cz/ and get your mobile ticket scanned right in front of the ticket counter or the elevator going up to the 3rd floor.

There are elevators to reach the top floor. It could be very crowded on top of the tower during peak season so please come early in the morning or night time (they open from 9am to 10pm) if you wish to avoid the horde of tourists. The 360° view of Prague is simply fabulous.

Sweet Escapade at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat - Part 1

I'm BACK! I'm BACK! Yes, I knew that the last post was half year ago :P

How I wish I could have the luxury of time to blog more often!!! But I know being a working mother  of two, I have no choice but to prioritise  my family and work so before I resume working, I will try to update more often.

Visited this beautiful heaven last year with hubby but I think it's never too late to share such a wonderful place for CUTI-CUTI MALAYSIA with all of you.

The Banjaran is situated among limestone hills and rain forest, this peaceful paradise offers stunning greenery surroundings and natural hotsprings lake and caves. It has a no-child policy to make sure guests are indulged in this tranquil environment for relaxing and rejuvenation.



After entering the resort, we were greeted by the most natural and serene surroundings.






Checking in was a breeze. And the hotel staff asked us to hit the gong to mark our arrival.



Ready to be taken for a quick tour on a buggy before being sent to our room.


Housing only 25 villas, each villa comes with its own private plunge pool. There are only two room types, garden villas which offer better privacy, bigger swimming pool and living area and water villas which are build on the water canal with a smaller space but comes with a balcony to laze on.



We chose to stay in Water Villa but upon arrival, we were automatically upgraded by the resort to Garden Villa. So happy!

Besides the pool, there was a spacious living area equipped with reading materials and built-in relaxing music whole day round.

And most important was our private hot spring tub at the backyard! Water from the natural hot spring was channeled into this tub and cold water tap was available for us to regulate the temperature.

Guests are not allowed to enter the main geothermal hotspring lake because of its high temperature. But there were a few hot dipping pot if you love the outdoor dipping experience.

There was a small man made waterfall in front. The sound of water flowing from the waterfall had a magically relaxing effect, which made me fell in love with this surrounding.

Crystal Lake, which was a mirror-like lake that you could clearly see your own reflection!

The stairs to go up to The Balcony, which offered a panorama view over the geothermal hotspring lake, swimming pool and the surrounding limestone hills.
