The Chocolate Ville is a new unique design restaurant which features a small European village, much more like a theme park, with the concept of "Dining in the Park".
It's located at the northeast part of Bangkok, about 30 minutes from Mo Chit BTS station. I took the BTS to Mo Chit station and then got a cab to send us here. But if you think to take cab from town to Chocolate Ville, then you gotta think twice because the traffic congestion is so terrible and we even encountered situation where the cab drivers (yes, more than one) refused to take us from Phrom Pong to Thong Lor, which the distance was less than 7km. But you can always try your luck provided you are prepared to stuck in the traffic jam.
After a long journey, we finally reached here!
What came to our first sight was a petrol station.
A very good place for photo shooting.
An old Merc Benz
Bloody red fire truck ...lol
Yacht marina with the riverfront gazebo overlooking the lake. Super like the setting like this.
The entrance
This restaurant is so huge honestly. Dining chairs and tables are everywhere.
Hubby and me with my Naraya bag. How could one resist shopping at Naraya when come to Bangkok?
Everything was just so lovely and I really enjoyed the stroll along the lakeside.
Actually I didn't know where to start to take photos because every corner was so beautiful. We went to the reservation counter to ask the waiting time for dining and surprisingly they told us that no reservation was required and we could choose any empty table that we wanted in the village.
Okay, let me tell you that there's only one restaurant in this village, and what you need to do is just to choose your table (be it riverfront or indoor) and they will be someone to serve you. But this only happens on weekday I guess. I read from other blogs and they advised to make reservation in advance or else the queue will be 30 minutes or more. This village will be very crowded during weekend so you don't get the chance to choose where you want to sit.
Sunset! Try to come around 5pm or else you will miss it.
Totally fell in love with this European village ambiance
What a good concept. A village with only one restaurant, serving the same menu so I do not need to choose. I'm a person who will take very long time to make decision especially when it comes to dining because I'm afraid of having bad quality food.
Love this building the most.
And I forced two waitresses to take photos with me ... lol
Super like the tree and building reflection on the lake ♥♥♥
Clear blue sky after rain in the afternoon. Am I in Bangkok?
Finally chose a lakeside table, overlooking the lighthouse. The lighthouse seems to be a duplicate replica of Maine harbor’s lighthouse. It's open to public and we did climb up to take a panoramic view of the village.
Waiting our meals to be served. Hubby was in good mood and kept taking photos for me (◡‿◡✿)
The waiter recommended their top-selling specialty pork spare ribs (395THB, serving for 3 ppl). I must say this was very delicious because the meat was tender and the sauce was flavorful. I enjoyed eating this very much!
Deep fried soft shell crab with ebikko and orange salad dressing. This was just average, no surprise and a bit disappointing as the crab meat was not fresh (289THB).
Hubby's favourite- Carbonara spaghetti with bacon and a egg. Tasty because the cream wasn't too thick and the egg made the spaghetti smoother. *Slurppp...... (229THB)
We did not try other drinks because all were iced drinks. Coconut was a very good choice! Sweet and young coconut, just like me! LOL
Walking around with a full stomach was a very good exercise!
My favourite photo in this village!
This building was specially designed for photo taking, not for dining!
A perfect place for pre-wedding photo I must say!
And lastly, the panoramic view of the village from the lighthouse.
