Vatican City is the SMALLEST country in the world! It is a very religious place and is famous for housing the Pope, the Catholic religious leader.
We came here to see here to see the LARGEST church in the world, St. Peter's Basilica.
Super super long queue for the security scanner and entrance. We had to wait for approximately 30 mins but well worth the wait.
Taking photos was the only thing that we can do while waiting.

Mini police car in the smallest country in the world ^^
Finally got through the security check!
Entering the Basillica
First glance
The basilica was really huge and very beautiful.
The Basilica is filled with beautifully carved statues and shrines. Every piece of floor and wall is covered in paintings and statues to the tiniest minute detail.
Dome Mosaics in the Cupola. The architecture and artistic elements of this Basilica were simply stunning!
Air vents for the crypt
One of the sculptures!
We were amazed at how ornate and magnificent everything was!
Behind me was the altar with bronzed canopy
This place was absolutely beautiful at every turn.
Snap, snap, snap
Gorgeous artwork and great paintings!
All the paintings that you can see in my photos above are actually NOT paintings. This is the fact that I only got to know when I googled for the information for this attraction when writing this post. Every single one of those “paintings” is actually a mosaic. It's all made from tiny, stained pieces of glass and stone.
And lastly, the post office of this country.
Time to sleep. Ciao (goodbye)!
